The Plot:

“Love delusion” is the past psychiatric diagnostic term for “erotomanic delusion”. While it is when someone thinks someone is in love with him and they have no communication history, as in the case of our protagonists love story in high school. While because the reasons were enough to believe that the idea that Ahmed loved her, Maryia was diagnosed as having a delusion about Ahmed’s love for her.

Maryia talks to Ahmed who is not there in the hospital

The way her delusion about Ahmed’s love and her persecutory delusion (when she thought her family and him are spying on her) is the main and the last escalation of the story as with the psychologist’s help, Amira, also Ahmed’s aunt, she reveals the reason behind Ahmed and Maryia’s misunderstanding of their behaviors toward each other. How Ahmed loved Maryia and was aggressive to her was explained in a supporting document about the plot which was because of his ADHD returning symptoms and his friend’s impact convincing him that she didn’t love him and that she is using him. While why Maryia seemed to manipulate Ahmed and gave an “I want him and don’t want him at the same time” impression, was taught to Ahmed because of her psychosis as those who have psychosis find difficulties to express their feelings and emotions. As Maryia’s only way she could express her emotions was when she sang for him in the school.

Unique Selling Proposition (USP):

The USP of the story is their love journey. It shows how their love story transitions and development are different from traditional love stories introduced in Romance movies. Most Romance movies plot is revolving around the characters and their personalities and lifestyle. Their love journeys usually lack the outstanding creativity as the main obstacles of the protagonists are usually their personalities or social status.

Our story is tangent to a specific unique previous movie story “The Fault in Our Stars”, as the protagonists love obstacles were their medical condition. It can be a little bit nearer to our story plot, while the main obstacle for our movie’s protagonists is the uncertainty of their love’s story existence. The love story is doubtable if it is confessed or not in their perception.

 

Genre Innovation:

The genre of the movie story interferes with Romance and Psychological genres movies. It can contribute in inventing a new movies genre about mental disorders as the interaction of their protagonists are unique and interesting, and not much introduced with enough experience in acting or cinematography because of the scarce proposal for these stories or scripts. This can open the door for new trends of the filming criteria.

 

Characters Arcs and Motivations:

The characters Ahmed and Maryia have their own motives and arcs in their personalities. Ahmed is very motivated by cars according to his luxurious lifestyle since his birth and his rioter personality which is also influenced by someway with his ADHD history and returning symptoms. Maryia is motivated by music and daydreaming, the way she was escaping from the reality and her mental illness that develops without being able to understand what is happening with her. Her strict and serious personality made her refuse her love feelings and suppress them until she decided to express them in a displacement trial by singing for Ahmed on the guitar.

 

Themes and Universality:

Love delusion trend can resonate with diverse audiences. The story explores the common first love experience in high school as most teens experience, and young adults remember their high school days, which are the main target audience of the movie.

 

Visual and Cinematic Innovation:

The classic vibe: cabriolets, classic hairstyles and clothes, and modern teenagers' experience makes a beautiful mixture of different generations who can get amusement watching the movie. The expressive visual items, the cabriolet and the guitar, are unique and give a special vibe to the movie. The tragic color palette that appears in the tragic scenes: brown with warm yellow lighting and dark compositions are planned to be directed in the shooting to pass one of the target moods of the movie which is tragedy.

The cinematic innovation includes teenagers compositions in school and rooms lifestyle, romantic red-colored guitar, love sparkle lighting on the eyes, and more are planned to be applied in the cinematography and the directing process.
